Fresh Frozen Plasma বা রক্তরস
Indications Of Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP)
- Single-factor deficiencies.
- Multiple-factor deficiencies, hypo/dysfibrinogenemia, and/or disseminated intravascular coagulopathy
- Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
- Need for urgent reversal of warfarin effect
- Vitamin K deficiency
- Liver disease, especially in the setting of liver biopsy
- Preparation for invasive bedside procedures
- During intraoperative cardiopulmonary bypass
- For massive transfusion
- Hemorrhagic disease of the newborn
- Inherited deficiencies of clotting factors.
- Coagulopathy and bleeding, or coagulopathy with planned procedure.
- Prevention of red blood cell hemolysis related to red cell T antigen activation
- Hypovolemia
- Plasma exchange.
- Reversal of prolonged INR in the absence of bleeding
- Prevention of intraventricular hemorrhage in preterm infants
- Treatment of neonates with polycythemia
- Wound healing.
- Other inappropriate uses.
In addition, frozen plasma should not be used for
nutritional support, protein-losing states, Guillain-Barré syndrome, acute pancreatitis or burns
